Vehicle Spped Sensor (VSS) Question

Is the VSS located inside the speedometer? Does the speedometer have to be connected to the speedometer cable for the VSS to function? HELP!

Yes it has to be connected, as the VSS is inside the speedo cluster.

Hi,
There is a small black housing with an optical unit that is fastened to the speedometer housing. I think with just one screw. The cable MUST spend the speedometer unit so that this sensor can function.

This unit sends a signal to the VSS buffer (light green in color) that is located above and just to the right of the radio (behind the dash). It is well taped in placed.
