I think everybody in the world knows about this one. I haven't seen it in years, but it is still funny as hell.

I received a notice from the moderator that there were some complaints about this video. If anybody was actually offended, I sincerely apologize. I quess I should have posted a warning that said "Beware- monkey actually does what title implies!!" Who would complain about a monkey smelling his butt after deliberately clicking on a title that reads "Video...chimp smells butt"? Again, if anyone was GENUINELY offended then I am sorry.

I wish I was joking about the complaints, but apparently somebody claimed to be horribly offended by this. I have a sneaking hunch that it might have been someone on this forum that I don't get along with who was just trying to give me a hard time.........I don't know. Whoever complained must be related to the damned monkey.

Yeah he has, he was the one knockin' the monkeys out with his funk. Either that or, just prior to watching the video, he was partaking in the same form of self-discovery.....hence his indignation.

I saw Sagget on a late night talk show once and he brought that video to show. Said it was his favorite but they wouldn't show it at prime time. I've seen worse on commercials. Like the Hemi one with the choking guy. They went back later and put that cartoon deal on the windshield. That was gross, this thing is just funny.

The "Test" in terms of what's appropriate and what's not for this board has been "if it's something you might see on broadcast television, it's probably okay for the board." Taste, unfortunately doesn't enter into the formula. This chimp thing has been on broadcast TV so I guess it fit's into the "OK" catagory. I wasn't the moderator that sent the PM to the person that posted this MPG, but I thought about it. Is it in good taste? Hell no. Is it funny? Yea, I guess so. Given our guidelines, is it a fit on this board. Unfortunately, yes and that's the reason it's still alive.

I also sent a PM to member DCEPTCN because I recieved a complaint about his thread and the video. I felt there was nothing wrong with the video. But let me take the opportunity to say that when you (all TB.com members) place a video in your thread please do so in good taste and in a "PG" frame of mind , because if its not we will delete it quickly and without warning.
With all that said I and my daughter did find the monkey video funny.

Most "complainers" are actually the hypocritical power hungry ones that get their thrills from sitting back and seeing the "power" of their complaining make some type of difference.

What happened to "changing the channel" or simply not opening something that you are likely not interested in the first place?

It works fore me. And WE (TB.com) didn't do anything. My child (9)sees that video on Animal Planet daily. If it is ok there why would anyone question it here? Lets worry about the serious stuff and not this very very laughable stuff. Go to any zoo and see what you get. That video is actually very mild..
