I bought a Vigilante converter from a guy. He wasn't sure what stall it was. Is there a way to tell what the converter is by any of the numbers stamped on it? It is a 9 1/2" converter.

Call Jack at Precision(manufacturer) he will be able to tell you by the numbers what you have.

Post the #`s if you have them.

There is a welded on tag around the outside w/ a 15G on it. On the bottom(flywheel side)- 23969G and on the top(trans side)- 025 and also 6663L Thanks.

That is a GM converter (obviously), with a 6 pump.
Probably going to stall 3600-4000 depending on HP and the weight of your car.

Numbers

23969G---The 4th digit dictates the stall---6 being 3600---0 being 3000--but a 7 is not 3700 but 4000. Don't understand their numbering sequence !!!!!

I was wondering what numbers told the story. Sounds like the number system makes sense at first then gets odd.

Lee,

What's this one? I just pulled the converter out today.
37595s

I'm wondering which stator / pump setup it has.
