vin ?

I just got a car fax on a 87 t type the glass has a vin etched into witch is 1 number off it and is badged as a t type but the vin shows as a carbed 6 what is the deal with that.the car has a 8.5 rear

As mentioned either it's a clone or it's had a vin swap.

Post the VIN and the number etched on the glass. Usually VIN etching has the VIN on all of the glass. Both doors,windshield and back window. Did you check for other VINs? Maybe somebody just hung a junkyard glass in the door of a legit turbo car.
