My volt light was always on when I bought the car at idle and driving. I took it to get it checked out and the alternator was charging very little so I replaced it with a remanufactured one. When I did, the volt light turn off. I was happy. 3 Days later, the volt light came back but it only turns on at idle, when I press on the gas and the car is moving, the light turns off. The alternator is under warranty but it seems to be charging right. Does anyone know whats up.

Put a voltmeter on the alt and see what's actually going on at idle. It's very possible for a reman alternator to be no good. A lot of places only replace what they have to. I don't know how low the voltage has to be for the light to come on but I would't be happy with less than 12.8 volts at idle.

Make sure your pulleys are the right ones, if they are 2 big, the alternator will turn over slower, hence, less voltage.

well, I took the alternator I has just bought (rebuilt) off the car and took it back to the part store. Guess what, it was bad. They gave me another one and it seems to be working fine now.:)
