volt light on

What's up family!; I did a rookie move tonight and I need yall help. I was going to tighten up the down pipe when my cellphone rung. As I answered it I put the socket down on the car and it touched the positive battery terminal and sparked. Yes I know I need my butt kicked for not paying attention and not unplugging the battery. Now when I go to crank her up to check for leaks, the VOLT LIGHT ON! WHAT did i mess up?

What does scanmaster say for battery voltage? Possible you toaster alternator. If its running but alt is not producing, then it will require rebuild or replaced

EZ test.. VOM across the alt power stud and ground, engine running. Showing charge?
