I recently switched out my dash and with that came the unplugging of a whole bunch of wires. I may not have done the best job when putting everything back together.

The VSS buffer box, the green box with letters AC on them. How many plugs are supposed to go into this. Is there just one or are there two? I ask because I have not been able to get my cruise control to work.

When logging on the FAST I can't detect speed which is critical for TC lockup and I can't get my cruise control to work. So I either damaged the actual VSS when pulling & reinstalling the guage cluster or I don't have everything plugged into the green buffer box. I see where there is room for two plug ins, but I only have one plugged in, but I can't find a loose plug either kind of hard to do with the dash in the car.

that was a useless link for the question asked

the vss has the ribbon wires at the one end which leads to the optic sensor mounted behind the speedo , and two connectors to the other end, one a black connector single red wire , the other a three wire cleartan connector with pink w/blkstripe , black w/white and what looks to me like dk grn.
the wiring exits the harness at the same spot as the radio leads so it wont be too hard to find
heres a pic

Not for tracing wires down, that your not sure of it gives you the source or a starting point.

i must be lost
he has no vss which has to do with the VSS buffer and you provide a link to change the turn cruise stalk
what am i missing

if you want to trace wires get the service manual

If i was home i would scan the manual for him and he would'nt have to trace "starting point".

Lifesaver - Whoever coined the phrase a picture is worth a thousand words never lied.

I have the white plug and missed the black plug. I am willing to bet the black is the plug feeding the ECM and explains why I got no reading on the FAST and why cruise is non functional it thinks the car is sitting still.

Now to wait till I get back to the house to look for the red wire....

Thanks alot, I feel much, much better now.

Check with the folks at Casper's Electronics.
