Hey Guys,
I bought a used Ta 49 to run last summer and had a blast. My engine is unopened and I was wondering what turbo is the next upgrade for a 49? I am going to run a PTC stretch intercooler next summer and was going to push a little more boost.

Thanks

Order up a 6262 Billet wheel turbo and if the funds are available go for the dual BB option as well.
It easily carries a stock motor car to the 11.0 range on pump gas and alky

What stall you have? How fast has the 49 taken the car? Do the search 49s taking cars low 11s.

The next turbo up from a 49 is a TE44. The 49 has a stock appearing compressor housing. The 44 is a great street turbo and spools fast. We are having a sale until the end of the year GBodyParts.com Online. Even though these turbo's are considered "out-dated" by todays standards, does'nt mean they have'nt proven themselves over the years as a great turbo. I had a 44 in my car and that thing hit 17lbs in no time. A billet unit would be nice, but they are too rich for my blood :frown:.

I have a 3200 lock up going in as soon as I get my tranny. I am making driveline changes right now. Vince Janis Stage 2 200r4 with manual trans brake, Pats 10" 3200 lock up , Spicer U-joints and Moser axles. Car has not been to track yet. I had ALKY pump issues last summer and have to get that fixed over the winter.

Thanks

coach, the 49 on a stock motor and a 3200 stall is a capable combo,i think you should run the car and see where your at.if your maxing the turbo out you should go bigger than a 44 inmo there is not that much difference to warrant the money.i ran the 49 down to 11 teens on drag radials it was not easy and is not easy on the stock motor but if you want to go faster and still want to upgrade the 60 series turbo's are worth the money.
