Walbro 340 Install

Trying to install my walbro pump and hotwire kit. It seems that the pump is too short to fit on the stock bracket. Is this normal? If so, what do you do to get it to fit right? Don't really want the pump to fall off driving down the road.

Looking in the archives, it seems that I should just replace the pulsator with a piece of hose. Is this the way to do it?

I would make sure and use fuel injection hose as regular 3/8 isn't rated for that kind of pressure I don't think although its a short distance I wouldn't want to take the chance.
