This is my last post on this. Unfortunately, I think you are still missing the point. There is no one in the world who does not want to get exactly what something is worth when they sell it. You had a vehicle I wanted and I offered to pay exactly what you were asking (both amounts). The problem here is after you agreed upon a price you were still trying to up the ante with other potential buyers. So in reality what you were asking for your car isn't what you thought it was worth and isn't what you wanted for it. Kind of unfair to those of us looking to buy. You said in your previous post that you did not expect anyone to reply to your ad. My question is what the he!! did you put it on the website for? Anyways, just let this thread die. You have your car I have my money and life goes on. It is getting late and you should get to the dealership to pick up your Z06 before the dealer changes his mind and raises the price on the Z06 you bought.:D Have a good one!

The best part of this whole thing is this guy will stick out like a sore thumb when he finally decides to sell because his care is so rare. Everyone now knows he is trying to play games and how can you trust someone like that. Regardless of price I would have a hard time buying a car from this kid because if he plays games when selling it how do you know what he says about the car is true. Very Shady!!!! I think it is safe to say anyone on this site will stay away from the car now. I would hate to bid higher and higher and then get the car and find out it's not what he said it was.

the car is going away for 3 yrs. I doubt that. But, when it surfaces again and he tries to sell it we will remember! And it doens't have to be psted for sale on this sight for us to see it. We check all the sights. And chances are whoever wants to buy it will be a memeber of this sight and will ask questions about it. Doesn't pay to lie!

I don't think turboscott should be talking for all of us. i think this may have just been a misunderstanding. in fact, based on the prices being talked about I would be interested in hearing more about the car. I am looking for a HT TTA myself. I wanted something with lower miles but you can't get too picky since there were only 39 made. ttadriver, i hope you will reconsider putting it in storage and at least let me look at it first. I live in AZ but will be coming to your area in April when my kids are on vacation. If you are interested please email me at gtanut@hotmail.com. I can't commit to buying just yet since i don't know all the details about the car but i pay cash for my cars and if things sound good and look good when i see it i will drive the car back with me to AZ. Thanks, Sean

Well I was going to stay out of the whole topic this time around but when I re-read this old post after being referenced from this thread:
http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=101072

I realized Scott was right. Not only did the car stick out like a sore thumb when it finally did come back up for sale, it also did not go away for 3 years as it was supposed to while the owner got a Z06.

Too funny! :p

1987 GN, you sure handled this situation beyond reproach. Providing it all went down as described you are to be commended for your actions in my book. Personally, once the original asking price was exceeded, $2,700 of repairs or not - I'd have gone straight past pi$$ed off. Can't ever remember selling something without having a real good idea of what I wanted for it. If I were the seller, at the point you agreed to purchase it for the stated asking price - guess I'd figure I was a dumbsh!t for underpricing it and chalk it up as one of lifes' lessons if I realized later or found out what the additional repairs cost. Being able to sleep well at night is definitely one of the benefits of conducting your life in an ethical fashion. Keep "going fast with class"! John Rossington

Thanks for the support. I am still annoyed by the way he behaved and now to come on to the same website and have his 'brother' try to sell it at an even higher price is pretty nervy. Read the posts above and you will see he openly admits to raising the price and playing me and Vsix off against each other. Real shady.

This site and these cars are all about doing it with class and I won't feel right if I just sit by and watch someone come in an play these kinds of games with this community.

Ya know..all of this is under the assumption  that it is what it is.. Whereas it may have rotted floors, leaking t-tops, miles rolled back, blown posi, blown engine bandaided up...wrong tranny,etc..

Once a seller is fishy ..the whole car smells like fish.

Especially after repairs were performed

This is a 5k TTA... cuase the owner is neg 9,000 in character.

You deal with the devil..you get a red hot poker up the snitzer

everytime..
