On the second video watch the d/s front tire.
Check that front end. Unreal!!

Guy in Huntsville's front end did that and he put it in the wall. Had an end link or something come loose.

Both front tires are oscillating in the second pass, and I think in the first vid as well. Even more, watch the rear left wheel squirm sideways and tilt on the launch in the second vid. Those rear control arm bushings must really be deflecting. Oh, John is that you running past the camera in the second vid?

The car has a double sway bar and solid upper and lower wolfe bars. Maybe this could be the stock bushings in the rear end???
That was not me in the video, I have not been able to make a race this year! :(

I have a set of Spherical Billet Upper Control Arm Bushings I will let him try.

This thing was 3490lbs at Vegas.
The turbos are good for another 10psi!

Carl,

I looked at it again and rear squirm appears to be from from the tire itself. It looks at one point for a split second to almost stall or stop spining and stores some energy and then release it like a spring.

Wheels up!!!

It's nice to see Chris was able to really launch the car... Looks like he just needed a track that was working! Dem Mustang boys will be getting some company in the 7 second stock suspension club:) :D

Is it me or is that track downhill? Awsome launch for sure.

I think it is an optical illusion, this is at Vegas a NHRA National Events Track.

The sand trap area is prolly a good 10' to 12' higher than the starting line in Elevation........if you have enough momentum to get over the scales you can coast all the way in front of the grand stands and half way to your pit. It looks that way cause of the way they excavated to build the track into slight uphill grade, and the shut don area is a hill which is nice cause if your shoute doesn't deploy, you have the hill and your brakes.....instead of just your brakes:D

I was thinking the exact same thing. That thing sure leaves nice!

I could watch Chris's car run over and over again :) I think I watched those about 20 times :) Awesome! One of these days I'
m gonna fly out there just to see that baby in person running down the track. Tell Chris I want a new in car cam run!!! It's been awhile for some new in car stuff! Rock on CC! :D

There are some in the car shots being edited now.
I will post the new videos when they are done.

Glad to see it getting down there where it needs to be. Won't be long now and 7's will be regular.

John, how much power do you think he had to make to run the 8.0 pass at 175? Also, do you know how many rpm he is turning in the traps with I think the 3.60 gear?

Where's john? I'll venture a guess here and say 1150 in that car, probably had it turned up to 15 lbs of boost....:D

Calculator says 1478 averge rwhp to run 175 mph at 3490 lbs - was he in the car when it weighed 3490? If not, add a few more hp :-).
Lazaris, yes, looking at the rim vs. the fender it does seem pretty stationary so I guess most of the squirm is tire, not rear end.

Dusty,

We have not tried the 3.60s yet, we have a set of 3.70s in the car now. In talking with Chris last night the car was turning about 8200rpm on the 175passes. If I was going from scratch I would probably do a 3.5 or 3.4.
