Was Alternator, Now I don't know

OK, went out and started my car up this morning to take it to o'rielys. When trying to start it, it would buck and jerk and pop, but then it started. It is idling really high, tps is all over the place. The other night I was having problems with it dieing not having a charge, so i charged the battery and drove it home, drove just fine till i started it this morning. They tested the alternator said it was bad so I got new one and put it on. The car is still running like crap, giving me a code 24 and 42. What could cause this? Any ideas Im lost.

I'd be 98% sure it's a short in your wiring somewhere, probably near the header. It happened to mine (same scenario). I had popping, stuttering, bucking, engine lights, etc etc. Went through 2 batteries and an alternator (and an ECU box). Turned out it was a work wire near the headers that would contack when the engine torqued. It can take many hours and be a pain to find the tiny problem area sometimes though.
