Waste Gate Rod Pops OFF!!!

Hey guys can u damage anything running the car when the waste gate rods pops off and ur trying to go into boost??

Hey guys can u damage anything running the car when the waste gate rods pops off and ur trying to go into boost??

I don't think so....I disconnected the wastegate actuator rod on my 87 LTD and drove it around for curiosity's sake....It felt like I was driving a 10,000 pound car with a lawn mower engine installed. I think the wastegate goes open and does not build much boost at all when the actuator is disconnected.... :smile:

You can use an alligator clip to hold it on.
