After doing a search and looking on the Turbo Regal web site I think that I have everything hooked up correctly from the boost selonoid to the turbo but where does the source for vacuum/boost come from that goes to the selonoid? The line is just laying loose and is not hooked up. I traced all the lines from the vacuum block on top of the trottle body and all are connected. The car is an 87 Turbo T and is totally stock. I can't compare with my car because my car has an after market waste gate and is plumbed different.

Jim,

Do you have the factory "Y" with the restrictor in it?

If so the restricted side goes to the compressor housing.

The Arm of the "Y" that is on the 45 Degree angle facing the Rear fire wall goes to the Wastgate solinoid (nipple closest to the passenger side), and lastly the remaining open port on the strait section of the Y goes to the vacume port on the wastegate actuator.

The vacuum lines off the boost selonoid are toward the front of the car. The line off the passenger side of the boost selonoid goes to the strainght thru leg of the Y. The other side of the straight thru leg of the Y goes to the pressure side of the turbo. The other leg of the Y points to the front of the car and goes to the wastegate. I think this is all correct and according to the diagram I got from this site. My question is where does the boost selonoid get its vacuum/boost from? The line on the drivers side of the boost selonoid is not hooked to anything. I cannot find an open vacuum line to hook it to. Maybe it is not intended to be hooked to a vacuum/boost source. Can anyone tell me if it should be hooked up? If so, where it hooks to? The car is all stock, but somebody did not hook up the vacuum line to the boost selonoid. I think it should be hooked up to a vacuum/boost source. Anyone?

The line on the driver side of the WG sol is not connected to anything. That is the side where the solinoid vents to, and from the factory it had a small little foam filter on it, but usualy it rots, or blows off...

Just leave that side open.

Make sure all the lines at the Y are hooked up correctly or you will get not enough boost, or too much boost!

now I'm confused

I've got the restricted side of the straight leg going to the
compressor housing, and the other end of the straight leg
going to the solenoid on the valve cover.
With that, it points my 45 degree arm forward to the wastegate
actuator, not rearward toward the firewall to the vc solenoid.
I think Jeason described his routing the same way, is this wrong?
Mine's been hooked up that way for years:eek:

I'm sorry...I forgot the the 84/85's had a different location for the compressor...

Yes...as long as the Restricted part is at the compressor then all should be well.

my mistake.
