What is the purpose of the restriction on the turbo compressor side of the plastic stock tee?

Will I still need to use it with my external racegate and manual boost controller?

What is the purpose of the restriction on the turbo compressor side of the plastic stock tee?

The restrictor in the "y" hose going to the compressor port was used to prevent the wastegate solenoid from being overrun with too much boost, which would make the wastegate solenoid ineffective. If your running a manual boost controller you would not need the restrictor or "y" hose.
