Wastegate solenoid question

I just changed the tubing/lines on the Wastegate/boost solenoid and noticed that I have an extra nipple on the Wastegate solenoid that was not used previously. Is there supposed to be something there?

Yes it is supposed to be there. It came with a small sq. filter

Apparently the filters are very prone to falling off over time. I imagine you will be fine without the filter but if you are a perfectionist you can order them from various sources.
