I thought those Skylines are mega power cars. After about 1/2 hr of looking around that site, it looks like they are in the 300HP range???
Are the 1,000 hp Skylines a lie? Or are they like !,000 hp TR's - possible if one builds a 1,000 HP TR motor.

From my experience, Skylines are just like TR's and supras. They are very capable cars if given the right improvements. They come from the factory with about 300-320 HP even though they are rated at 280.
I once heard a saying about supras that pretty much holds true for skylines. It said that supras are pretty much 500hp cars detuned to 320 for production. What that means to me is that just like TR's, add the right parts and its easy to go fast.
There are several high HP skylines and supras running around but in my experience, these were mostly tuner cars. Some company says hey, lets show off and they build a 1000 HP car, take it to a magazine so they can do an article and then it may sit for a while before being sold or they may have actually built it to race so then they go race it until they feel like showing off again.

Skylines are nothing special. I live in Japan i know. i ride in them all the time. they are a dime a dozen. there is like 5 of them parked at my dorm right now. I am no expert by any means but they are not really that quick being stock. the new ones might be but they cost a fortune and there are not that many rolling around at all. i've seem like 3 here. Most of them are from 90-95. My buddy bought a 93 for only 3 grand. . You guys should feel sorry for me here not seeing any real cars just these freakin imports that think they are fast. A 1000 hp
. Whatever. U put enough money into anything u can have high horsepower. I heard the same rumor in the states. Its not true at all. We need a turbo buick and show them what over 20psi does. The gas here is crazy. Super is 105 octane!!!!! Reg is 95!!! Crazy! Our cars would love that. I would love to buy one (skyline)for 3 grand and take it back to the states and sell it and take that money and buy a GNX instead!!! This is all thanks to fast and furious. What a joke. Buy a slow car and JUST put 30 grand in it and you can have a fast car. What a joke.

My thought exactly Greg. A GN would be a great import there but i guess they would call us "spudders" there, being we are a potato based starch country. Mark

They can with bolt ons...They have a strong block ,4 valves per cylinder, and more head studs. But it will cost , just like building a Supra .
