Weak Module?

Well I took the car out tonight and made a run with the Powerlogger to see how the car was running. I did one pass and it felt like the car was holding back. Looking at my rpm and speed, the car seems to flat line in places. Especially up top. Prior to this the car didn’t go over 100, it was noticeably missing. The gap on the plugs were 44 and re-gaped them to 32. This fixed the problem of going over 100 but now I think the main problem is a weak module. I went to replace the coil after the drive(I had a spare), the module was very hot. The blue insulation inside was melting. Tomorrow I’m going to test the spark and see how strong it looks but right now I feel I have a weak module. Does this sound like the cause of my problem?
