weak valve springs

is there anyway to tell if you have weak valve springs just by driving the car or looking at 1/4 mile times?

If there is a doubt, change them. It's very hard to determine how much performance you are losing until you aren't losing it any more. With weak valve springs, the motor won't want to rev above 4800 RPM or so, but other things may cause this also.

my tach dont work but i whenit revs up high i hear it going but doing feel it going. could this be attributed o weal valve springs?
