I haven't changed the spark plugs on my car since I got it so I went to take a look at their condition today. It takes all sorts of joints and extentions by the time i get the plug socket in there I can't get enough leverage to get the dang things out. They're in there pretty tight. Anybody know any tricks to getting to these things, especially without damaging them?

24" 3/8 dr extension, 3/8 swivel/U-joint and a 5/8" spark plug specific socket. Back 'em out and replace with Autolite 24's gapped at 35 thou. GM torque spec is 20 ft/lbs not welded in

24 inch extension connected to a 1 inch wobbler extension, 5/8 spark plug socket, and a long flex handle rachet. I usually try to shock the plug by hammering on the rachet handle with an open palm. Before installing the new plugs, I put a little antisieze on the threads (don't go crazy with this stuff, a little means just that). I also put a little dielectric grease on the edge of the spark plug boot (don't go crazy with this stuff either). In a effort to get the plug to thread properly in the hole, I connect a piece of 6 inche vacuum hose to the plug and spin the plug in by hand first.
