Weatherstripping Adhesive?

I have a question about weatherstripping. I rolled down the passenger side window the other day and the weatherstripping came down along with the window. I put it back into the groove but it keeps falling off when I roll down the window or open the door. Am I supposed to use adhesive on it? Thanks

3m weatherstripping adhesive. Local parts store, black tube, yellow glue.let it get a little tacky, apply to channel and strip.

Im no expert but dont put a lot on,

Anyone with more experience than me on this subject please give more details on using the adhesive.

X2 on 3m super black weather strip adhesive. Spread a thin coat let flash a minute or two and press and hold secure with painters tape for a hour or two and it will never come loose.
