How do I create a "counter" for my website? Is there some coding that I can copy/paste into the code or ??
I see that I can sign up for a "free counter" but is this necessary?
If I create theh counter will is start with the actual number if hits ot does it start from 0?

TIA.

If you're using frontpage, there is a counter it can create. You need the webserver to have FP extensions. Just follow the wizard, or use the help file.

If not, you can use a perl script provided your host has perl installed and provides you with a cgi-bin directory. I used ones from Matts Script Archive, but havent dont one in a long time, or as was said, php counters, but you need a host that has php installed

There are online counters you can sign up for and have them display on your site, or have them count invisibly for you to review the stats. www.digits.com is one I remember off the top of my head

Thanks guys! I haven’t had time to review everything mentioned above but I will try to get to it this weekend. FYI, I am using Front Page if that makes any difference so I’ll see what the program has to offer.

Thnx again!
