Hey guys getting the hang of this turbo6 thing but have something weird going on.

My car only goes to bout 10 in first and second. Top of second like 12 but when it shifts 3rd and I stay in it, It will climb to 16 and then come down and stay at 15lbs through third and fourth.

If I adjust my rod for more boost in 1st and second, Half a turn shoots me up to like 18-19. I thought 1 turn per pound but not working correctly. Also I'm afraid if I get 17-18 lbs in first that it will go like 20 or so in third and I know thats knock for sure!

Any ideas???:frown:

Will an RJC boost controller help with this?

hmmm... just a couple odd ball ideas hear i guess, this ones strange indeed! how much preload do you have on the actuator rod? meaning with the rod off, how far do you have to pull it to put it on the flapper? is it a high pressure actuator? it dinda sounds like it's teetering on the edge of sealing up and not sealing.

maybe try eliminating the boost solenoid from the equation by plugging the line off. see how the boost pressure reacts. i dont think this is the issue, just an idea. hth

boost creep

I had a boost creep issue also, she would boost to 13 in first and second then start to climb in third up to 16 at which point I let off. After doing a couple searches here I ported the wastegate hole and installed an RJC boost controller. No more creep and holy crap the boost hits hard, right to 17lbs and holds all the way up. Did both at the same time so I couldn't tell you for sure which will fix the problem.

sounds good!

I think I am gonna do that. I was already debating the ported housing part and I ordered the RJC boost controller last night. I think I am gonna try to find a good used down pipe if not a Ported housing it is!

THANX GUYS!!!

wastegat rod!

I'm gonna c how far I have to pull it and let you know! I belive it has somethiong to do with the sealing of the puck cuz it used to boost like 16-17 in first until I changed the stock masss air for the lt1 and translator. At that point it went to 19-20 so I backed off the rod and here we are!

If you use the RJC boost controller or any manual boost controller, the wastegate rod gets set to stock lengnth, 1/8" preload.
