Looking for some opinions on some weird stuff that is happening to my stock 1984 GN.

1 - code 15 - coolant temp low is being set when I first start the engine. Engine is stone cold and this is the first start of the day - outside temp is around 50 degrees.

2 - code 22 - TPS low is being set when I am driving at 65 mph. Engine is not idling, I am at 65 mph.

3 - when I am in my driveway, idling at about 800 rpm, in PARK, my ALDLdroid app is showing rpm's as zero and the vehicle speed as 19 mph.

Any suggestions regarding these weird happenings?

Sounds like the ecm is freaking out. Overall how's the car running? Is it the same as it was before the scan tools started doing this? How old is the scanmaster? Did you buy it new or used? If the car is running fine, I would check the scan tool connections. It's gotta be something simple

I figured ecm as well - so I ordered one not know that it didn't come with the chip. I am on the way back to Canada - in Syracuse NY so perhaps tomorrow, if I can avoid the ice and snow.

I definitely have a problem with the brand new coolant temp sensor. it only seems to be a problem when the outside temp is cold. Today it reached 74 degrees in PA and NY and the code was not set. The ECM had the 4th gear working fine. Still not sure what the cure is. The 84 had the idiot light sensor and the ECM sensor switched position in the intake manifold. Will try that too when I get home.

During the winter the rodents come in and tend to chew at wire harnesses. Check your loom thoroughly look for rat crap to see if they may have been nesting in the car, if so it could be something as simple as that. Good luck bro, update progress

There ain't no winter for this car - it spends the summers in Canada and drives us to Florida in the winter - good idea tho so I will check wiring harness after I install my back-up ecm, at home in Ottawa Canada.

Do you have the right setup on the ALDLdroid? The 84 GN has a different ALDL stream than what the intercooled Buicks have.

Yup - I am using 1D.adx and have been for a year now. Was working great; then it was not.

Final note for now - We drove from Florida to Gananoque Ontario, Canada with few problems. Left Sat AM for the last two hour drive (after the first 1400 miles) and spent the last hour in the cab of a flatbed tow truck.

I went out to pass a truck on the shoulder and the car just died. It was as if there was suddenly no spark or no fuel.

I check the fuel rail and there was gas. Tried to start a couple of times - no luck.

When it warms up here I will swap the ECM and see if there is any change.

Go figure??

Did you listen for the fuel pump?
Try starting fluid, if it starts and dies it's gotta be a fueling issue.
Do you have a hot wire hooked up? If so check the fuse. It's gotta be an easy fix, sometimes we overlook the simple things and Good luck brother.

Will do - i will eliminate fuel flow and spark before anything else. Garage is not heated so it will be a couple of weeks before the weather is good enough for me.

Thanks for all the suggestions overall - I have my work cut out for me.
