I was wondering if anyone has ever tried polishing up a set of Weld wheels and then having them clear coated? I'm dreading having to constantly polish my rims to keep them looking nice, and am looking for a lazy mans alternative. Would a clear coat work or would it eventually just start yellowing and then look like azz? :)

I haven't done this, but I was told to polish them, then have them clear powdercoated. Then you can just hose them off. My welds are about 8 months old now, never polished and look like new. I just use water and no soap, towel dry them, and they stay shiny. The clear powdercoat sounds like it would work.

Use Wenol it is a polishing compound that is awsome. I polished mine 5 months ago and other than dusting them off I havent touched them.
