What exactly needs to be replaced and or/taken off?
If it is that i'm gonna just have the cam replace too, i mean since we'll be down there and all
I was thinking the 208/208 cam from Johns Performance.
As for the rest of the stuff, i know i'll need the cam button and timing chain, should i replace the chain? get a new one or go with a timing gear? what else needs to be done?
Replacing the front seal is a little easier than swapping the cam. For the cam, you will need to take the intake manifold off to get to the lifters.
The front seal, timing chain just requires the front cover removal. Loosening or dropping the pan and removing the turbo can make front cover install a lot easier, but it can be done without even removing these.
If you are going to do a cam, you might as well do the heads....Then you think, well if I'm going to do the heads, I might as well pull the motor, so I can do the rear main seal while it's out....
The phrase "While I'm doing X, I might as well do Y" is a slippery slope on a buick
