I went through and did an initial inspection of goods.....

Interior:
Most of the interior trim was removed, boxed up, and stored in a shed. The seats have been covered the whole time and look pretty damn good. The dash is in excellent shape as well as the dash pad they had it covered with. It has the 145MPH cluster installed. The owner passed on the boxes of interior parts and a few NOS ones as well.

Exterior:
Every part of the body, with exception of the front end, has been smashed or dented extensively(spinout pinball apparently...) . All of the wheels are straight and have some minor surface rust in the usual areas. The windshield is toast, but the rest of the glass is fine. All of the emblems were missing. The good news is the frame appears to be unmolested through all of the trauma.

Engine:
Pure stock with the exception of the vacuum brake conversion(the PO said he had a "hard pedal" issue and replaced the whole unit. The engine started right up with starting fluid through the vaccum line to the brakes and ran for about ~20 seconds with no knocks or rattles. The PO said the car has been started and warmed up at least once a month since it was wrecked ~6 years ago with the exception of the last 5 months(no fuel pressure...the pump fires up though). The entire engine are shows no signs of distress or damage from the wreck.

The Trunk!:
Surprise Surprise Surprise!

There is a complete GNX style dash loaded with VDO gauges in new condition
There is a NOS power antenna (complete unit)
Five(5) NOS Power Six center caps (1 slightly used)
Postons Double Roller timing chain (New)
Engine ground kit (New)
Complete PowerMaster setup (needs a new accumulator...see above)
NOS 85MPH cluster plate
NOS driver side door felt guide
NOS heater hose kit
Spare Driver side header
Kirbans Guide to 86-87 Turbo Regals
And several small Delco bags with miscellanious screws and trim goodies

I still haven't started digging in the inside of the car yet so who knows what I'll find

As I mentioned before, my primary interest in this car is the drive train. All of the other stuff is useless to me. So.....there will be a lot of parts kicked aside once I get rollin' on the "GST" project.

I was able to get the car for $3500....

The really sad part of this story is the lady was visibly upset and crying as the car was being loaded on the truck. I assured her I would stop back later sometime and giv her a ride in my 87. She immediately perked up with a heart felt "Really?".

Here ya go...

buy a roller, and put those parts in it!!! I told you to get it.....:D

Nice buy! Didn't think deals like those happened anymore, especially in SoCal! I wouldn't have believed about the trunk extras if you hadn't posted pics. ;)

Not to pi$$ on the "Purists", but, I have a line on very clean 66 GTO with no motor.....might be a fun starter project:cool: I'd really like to stay in the 60's BPO class due to smog regs in Cali. "NO CHEVY's"

I'm very hesitant to "cut" the 66 Lark GS for the transplant as it is a numbers matching car.

Just finished pumping 17+ gallons of fuel out of it to replace the fuel pump....

Now I get to battle the 270 generations of Black Widows lined up to defend her Honor!

the gto sounds fun! if your Lark runs, leave it alone. What's the big ideal about Chevy's?? lol. watch it!
I hate black widows!!!!!! is the rear end straight?oh yeah, I hate smog too.

Nice find. That GNX style dash is worth some $$$ alone.

P.S Please dont cut up a numbers car!!! :)

i don't know if i missed an earlier post, or just didn't read good. what happened for you to get this awesome deal? i'm still in shock, nice ,nice find.

On the drive home from the show @ Bates, I decided I was going to replace the Nailhead in my 66 Skylark GS with an 86-87 Turbo drivetrain and did a search on Craigslist. There it was on the top of the list:cool:

She originally wanted $5000 for it. When the lady found out what I was planning to do with it, she was very cooperative in making the deal happen. That, and a promise to stop back and take her for a ride in my GN.

sd-slider came by the shop to ask me what I thought about his plans to replace the nailhead and this parts car find he came across.

I replied, "I'm kinda wondering what the heck you're standing here for. Go get it!"

Looks like you got it. Great.
