You can get a complete new sensor for around $125 on the board. Just check the pfs section or put out a parts wanted request.

I agree. Don't buy the Caspers one. Mine never worked and my buddy that had one for a couple of years and had nothing but problems with it.

In support of the Caspers sensor, I have to say, I've seen problems with the product, but most of the time, it's a result of badly worn sensor drives. The Cam Cap with LED is a sound design, has always been. We have had our share of issues, all of which have been resolved by minor manufacturing adjustments and major installation instruction re-writes. Caspers wouldn't offer a product that didn't work. And, Caspers stands behind every product offered.

One other thing: No sensor cap will work properly on a worn out drive.

True!! I've been running the Caspers LED cap for a number of years now totally trouble free!!

If a person has a problem with one of your products, and more than a few have, should he be censored from testifying about his experience?

It's similar to making fun of you and now you have been hurt.

Do you find it friggin hilarious?

Your cap is the only one on the Market. You have nothing to worry about.

Testifying about his experience is one thing, but "Don't buy" is entirely another. And, I'm not worried...just trying to put things in perspective. We've sold thousands of those caps, so the statement "causing more problems" is strictly an opinion, not a testimony.

So, not to stray from the original poster, yes, Kirbans sells them along with several other well-respected turbo Buick vendors.

Can you tell us what kind of problem or problems were discovered in the original design, what the time line was,and how it was re-designed to rectify the problem/problems.

What years did these problems occur? Did you and your friend resolve your problems by simply installing stock or stock replacement caps or did you buy complete replacement cam sensors?

Tomco number 22008 is just the cap. I have purchased 2 and plan to road test both of them this weekend (on a brand new drive assembly). One is going on for the 4 hour trip out of town the other will be installed for the 4 hour drive home. I needed an economical source for a "get my ass home" spare cap. under $50 each.
