There is a older gentlemen that has one in mint condition. He is the original owner of the car. The interior is a 9 out of a 10 and the body and paint is like an 8 out of 10. It is all original except for 20 row IC and a ATR 3" dp with ATR exhaust. He is asking $14 k. Is this a reasonable price or should it be a little lower. I'm not new to Buicks just have not had one in a while and don't know what they are now really going for in this condition. Thanks!!

14 Grand with 90k is too high... plus it has mods on it.. find a Turbo T you will find a better price and not be like all the rest with black cars.... EJ howe here in Houston has a really nice 88,000 mile GN.. clean stock for $10,500 I have his number if you are interested.. pm me..

The price seems a little high!! BUT, you have the org. owner an d the car is in great condition. I personally would say if the condition of the car is well an the guy has kept it up as far as maintenance and such and it has not been abused make him a offer say around 12.5 or so. You never know!!! But like the guy said before there are others, its what you want and what you will pay.

My Opinion is 14k isn't too bad for a 1 owner 87 GN , in very good condition. (9 out of 10)

Reason being-

"They Just Don't Make These Cars Anymore"

Here's a good Tip as well. If he's "asking 14k" , and you're wanting to try and get a lower price, then get 13k in cash or cashiers check, and show him the money!

9 times out of 10, he'll find your firm offer acceptable, and you'll have a nice GN for 13k!

''They just don't make these cars anymore" is NOT a good or logical reason to spend 14 grand on a car with 90k regardless of how many owners or how it looks from a picture.

I totally disagree- There's laws of supply and demand that dictate.

Tell me what kind of new car you can even buy new for 14k? A Hyundai?

C'mon, give me a break. The original thread started by saying the guy was asking for 14k. Key word being- Asking. Doesn't mean he's going to get it for certain.

I could understand if the guy is asking 16k, or 17k. I've seen ads for as much as 20k to 23k, for these cars from wholesalers and dealers, with pretty little writeup pictures on the internet. That seems a little much, and I would agree with you on that being way over the price, value.

It comes down to how nice a car really is, how much a owner has to spend, and if they're going to neotiate the selling price of the car in my opinion.

Are the cars that are auctioned off on Barrett Jackson, worth all the loot they pull in???

I'm with you tomcat. While it's a little high, I don't think it's too high. 1 ownger GN's are getting very hard to come by, especially in good condition. I would never consider selling my 87 for less than 13K, and I consider it a 9. I'm the second owner of it, and know it's history/previous owner.
My 86 is a 1 owner and it's probably a 7, but in my mind, worth at least 10-11K.

As I said the 1 or 2 owner NICE GN's are just too hard to come by, mileage not withstanding.

its totally worth it, if he is really the original owner!

I was offerd much more the 15K multiple times for my 86', it was a 10/10 car though. 9 of 10 is worth it for 14k. Especially if he has the documentation proving he's is the original owner. Thats why I will never take out the A/C or put a cage in this car. Me and my dad are original owners sence 1986.

But if you dont car about the 1 owner thing, and just wanna go fast; I say just buy a regular regal for DIRT cheap, and build a motor with a rear end and good rear suspension and then transplant and you'll have a good 10's car for under 15k thats just my 2 cents. Goodluck.

Not to much

I agree, my car has 134,000 and it runs like a champ. I have also asked around about these cars and they really hold up well. If it is the original owner and he has all the documentation it could be a find. I will leave you with this, has the powermaster been changed? This seems to be the only major deal on the gn's and if it hasn't you maybe able to do some research and get a little better deal by negotiating this. Do what you want and someday you will be glad that you did!
This is just my opinion of course!!!

P.S. Look at the Kelly Blue Book for a side by side comparison, I checked mine yesterday and I feel comfortable where I am at this point and time, and just remember they don't make these anymore and they will never again so that makes it worth every penny!

Very well said...I would spend more on a 1 owner car than I would on 9 owner car. He knows what he has or hasn't done to it...

It's worth as much as someone is willing to pay, my 86 keeps going up in price everytime someone says they what it or calls it a cutluss...
