looks like an 83

I'm not too sure, but that looks almost like an 83 turbo, from a carburated car. They may have changed the exhaust housing to accomodate the other applications listed. It doesnt look like a stock 84-85, or 86-87. as per specs, go to the before black page and they will tell all!

good luck

John

The thing has a TE compressor housing, doesnt look like a stock Buick turbo.

stock hotair turbo flows 390cfm

thats prbably smaller than a stock hotair turbo.. he was running 7.5psi.. which is probably what majestic built that turbo to do.. less than 10 psi.. no good for a buick

ok, i have the turbo, it is off of a 79 regal, and now i need some flanges for it. it has an upgraded compressor housing, the turbine is a .82A/R and the compressor is a tiny .42A/R, are there any upgrades for the compressor? maybe a .60A/R that can bolt on. thanks.

i seen that turbo on ebay and yeah it is a smaller version of the one on the 85 turbo buick that one is for a carberator and i know this cuz my buddy drives and 82 and is the same thing like the one on ebay it is smaller than my srtock one my 85 t-type

what is a TE housing, sorry for the newb question
TA housing is the type [like factory] that has the two studs on the compressor housing that the TB bolts to (86/87 is also this way). TE housing has no studs, just the extruding pipe like lip to attach the likes of an intercooler hose. Most aftermarket turbos are TE. TA turbos are usually stock appearing (i.e. TA33, TA49).
