I will not get on a tangent of this sort with you, take anything out of context that you like....and for the record,that church tried to set an example for the other useless churches by voluntarily paying full taxes rather than begging for handouts which, more often than not, went to the construction of more ostentatious architecture than to their member's hungry children. You would not be the first frightened little person that I wasted my time arguing with even though you have not familiarized yourself with the material. Forget what whoever told you, and don't assume anything is 'evil' untill you have REALLY studied up on it.

Let me first say that I am in no way going to participate in any type of flamewar, etc. However, I am compelled to point out some of the hypocrisy that I keep hearing, the bent truths, and the BS and comments that just make no sense whatsoever. Guys listen to yourselves, are some of you living in boxes?

I wouldn’t doubt that at all, but you have to look at the whole picture. What about the Christians, Jews, etc. etc. that feel the same way? Hatred is not just in one type of person, I don’t think it works that way.

Many of the people here who knew the Trade Center terrorists and were neighbors felt they were okay too.

Yeah, probably so, kind of like the nice next door neighbor who is a closet sex offender/ into child porn. He’s a great neighbor though, he keeps an eye on your kids for you every now and then.
Anyone see that movie “Arlington Rd.” with Tim Robbins and Jeff bridges? Tim Robbins character didn’t have to be Muslim to make the movie work and be very believable. What about the Oklahoma bombing? Columbine? You can go on and on with examples in our own country. These are all terrorists, born and raised in America and none of them Muslim. I guess they must have forgotten that prerequisite before they acted like they did.

It's just a common thing it seems among Muslims worldwide to hate Americans.....

How could anyone say this, have you been worldwide to see this first hand?? Not all Muslims are from Iraq, or Afghanistan, or Saudi Arabia. There are Muslims WORLD WIDE, and they live completely different lifestyles from each other, look completely different from each other, and live in completely different countries 1000’s of miles from each other. Not all Muslims are Arab, and not even they are all evil, only a small minority, that of course stands out. Bad always stands out, just watch the local news. There is evil in every "group" of people. It’s a human flaw not a religious flaw.

I do know of some of them who run a local used car lot. They thought it was funny and that "we had it coming" on 9-11.......

Now that is a shame, but does that give reason to condemn a whole religion, race, nationality?? This thread shows the true problem which is apparent, that exsists just as much if not more so in America, than anywhere else - prejudice. Also, just as some of us are showing hatred for what has transpired over the last few years, definitely not to defend that wrong way of thinking, don’t you think that maybe some of these peoples hatred stems from maybe something that has been done to them? After all, these sought after criminals were not too long ago considered allies and WE are the ones who supplied them with the weaponry to begin with. Seems there may be more to it. Of course we are not going to know for sure, we're not supposed to. The people that this thread condemns have been plagued with terrorism and death and destruction for many years. It has just hit us big recently and that is probably from where the car lot guys, who happen to be Muslim, would derive an idiotic statement like that. It has been a long time since we have experienced war. We have been like a sleeping giant that was surprised. Even when at war in the past, with exception of the attack on Pearl Harbor, the destruction and demise took place in other lands, not ours. Our casualties, are soldiers, those who voluntarily, yet valiantly, embrace their duties and unknown future, the casualties where the war takes place includes civilians and civilization.

YES. Lets at least try to do our own part at correcting this by starting with ourselves, and our kids most of all.

If they had our capabilities would they care about our religion and sticking up for our rights and rebuilding our government or ..... would we already be nuked and dead?

I’m not going to point out all that is wrong with this statement, just one : "OUR religion"? What is that? This country has a uniform religion now? Okay, we’ve really opened a can of worms here, going against our own constitution for one. By the way, ever hear of the melting pot? Well, it’s us, the USA, and it IS what makes us strong.
No matter how mad we get at something that someone has done, you can’t discriminate against they’re whole religion, race or nationality for that matter. I don’t have the numbers but there were quite a few Muslims that were killed in the trade center. During the war in Iraq, the number of Iraqi casualties, many of which are civilian, are never told. They have got to be in the 10s of thousands. Is that alright because they are Muslim? If you say yes, then there is the true problem right there.

My problems are with the basic tenants of the Islam belief. Exact God's wrath upon all non believers of Islam thru your hands. Christianity says treat all with love, and God Himself will judge and exact suffering on the non believers. Directly opposed philosophies I think. Islam preaches for you to be judge and executioner, Christians are taught only God will judge and execute his wrath on the non believers. In fact, it is disobying God's word if we don't do this. So that in a nutshell tells all to me.

Our religions... Happy now. Geez forget an S and the guy wants to crucify me. In addition it wasn't a statement, it was a question. I did remember the question mark. Simple question at that. Yes they(Iraqi government and leaders) would give us the same quarter that we have given them or No we would be dead. What say you? I say we would be pushing up daisys.

I do agree it was an idiotic statement, but it was their true feelings and they were from Saudi Arabia. There were other news reports of other Muslims in the U.S. who felt the same. Of course, most did not feel this way and the others had enough sense to keep their mouths shut.

There are bad people in most groups, and it is good if the group handles them, before the entire group gets a bad name. We have made great efforts to do this in America, and it will always be a work in progress. Some groups do not wish to handle or make enough effort to handle their bad apples and they suffer because of it.
Sad but true.

I did major in history and keep up with world affairs. You do that kind of thing more as you age.

It is unfortunate that the Innocent people get dragged in but that is the way it goes. I am sure a few guys would have a different view if you where a Marine on guard with a few of your fellow soldiers and a Innocent civilian car pulled up and blew your crew up. Would you be smiling at the next Innocent civilian car that comes by, i think not. That is the way it is, yes Innocent good Muslims are paying for the bad ones, that is the way most of society judges certain cultures so get use to it. This country was founded on a few really important things, as the west wing people continue to blow the system apart, the more America continues to deteriorate. Next we will have a Muslim national holiday...give me a break.
