I just put my translator, and LT1 MAF back on the car(had the stock one on for a while). When I did this I also noticed that I have a plug wire that had melted some, and it shocked me through the boot. I am going to try do deposit the money tomorrow to order a set of taylors.

When I drove the car, afterwards, it runs fine...at part throttle. I know I can go up to 10 and maybe even close to 15 lbs of boost, but if I go wot, I get a very loud exhaust back fire. It was set to about 16, but I dont know if the maf switch would have effected it at all. I know the different things that have occured, and am just trying to relate which is causing the backfire.

The only thing I could think with the maf is that the piping for the cai(home made) is barely long enough to work w/ the shorter lt1 maf. Maybe I have an air leak causing a backfire. Is this a possibility? I am going to try sticking the factory maf back in because I can do that before I get the new wires. If it is not the maf, I will probably put the lt1 maf back in and wait for the wires to come in.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks

Ben

Well, it was related to the maf. The wires are all in tact in the maf. One of the connections looked poor, but I dont know if it was leaking or not. I will have to make a longer maf pipe to work w/ the shorter lt1 sensor to see if that fixes the problem. If not, I guess the sensor may just be bad.
