What causes popping through the exhaust

While driving under normal cruising conditions I will hear pops through the exhaust, almost like a small back fire. This never occurs under WOT. It happens under cruise and decel. How can I cure this?

You may want to get your coil pak checked with a Casper
tester, I have had my coil pak go bad in mid range and the
only thing that would show it bad was a tester.

If you omed it, it would show good, after I changed it I
had no more problem.

You also may want to check your plug wires.

a fresh 02 cant hurt either maybe running a lil rich at cruize

intake pop usually lean ext pop usually rich

tail pipe should show soot if it is that rich..
