...is/are the wire/wires that comes off of the door jamb switch that turns the dome lamp on?

And is this a negative wire that when the door opens creates a ground for the dome lamp to come on? Or is it two positive wires that create a path of current for the lamp?

I need to know....going to tap into the door jamb lamp switch circuit for an alarm....

Thanks in advance.

Or if anyone has a schematic of interior lighting. My Chiltons book has schematics but not this one.

It's a white wire that gets grounded by the door jamb metal.

It will go from +12 through the lamp filament to ground on a meter or a high to low trigger with door opening for the alarm people to know.

If theres another wire in there, either light blue or tan it's the factory alarm wires on the door jamb second switch that also get grounded.

Hey thanks for the info. White wire that gets grounded....by chance does this white wire happen to cross across behind the radio/HVAC controls at all?

Wire for door trigger for alarm

If you have any courtesy lights in the lower part of dash (you should)there will be 2 wires to lite orange and white use the white wire and you will get the trigger for both doors at the same time and depending on your alarm system if it has "domelight supervision" use can use a standard relay and make your interior lite come on upon disarm.

Yes I do have the underdash/foot well courtesy lamps.

The alarm I have, when it receives a ground, sets it off. It's not a factory alarm. But it does say to connect to the door jamb switch. Good thing is it's adjustable for positive or negative type door pin switches.
