hi folks. i'm desperate!

i didn't consult someone who knows the tv-cable adjustment procedure already...

This is what i did:
Other person put the pedal to the metal in car, i pushed the "d"-shaped thing on the tv cable housing besides the throttle body. The plastic-made thing came out very long. too long i'm afraid, so the cable was too loose.

i then put it back in approx. situation as it was before i was messing with it. now the car won't shift until 4.000 rpm, also when i rev it slow. damn. what did i do??

man!

help much appreciated...
thx

matt... sorry for my bad english

If you disconnect the cable from the Throttle arm and pull on it, can you still feel tension on the spring. ie does the cable spring back when you pull on it ?

If not, then perhaps the cable end in the transmission has come off the Throttle Valve Hook itself and you need to undo the bolt holding the cable on and reconnect the hook onto the cable end.

Sounds like the adjustment is now too tight. Push the "D" button and pull the plastic housing out a little and try it again. To get you started, take the cable off of the throttle linkage, open the throttle wide open, and then pull the the T.V. cable until it is fully extended. The centerline of the clip on the end of the cable should be just short of lining up with the pin on the throttle linkage. The normal way to adjust it is to push the "D" button and push the plastic sleeve back towards the firewall and release the "D" button. Then get in the car and push the gas pedal all the way to the floor. Make sure you don't have the matt under the pedal. The cable will self adjust. You can make minor adjustments after that if you want to change the feel and shift points if desired. It is possible the cable came off of the rod in the trans. As said above, do you still have spring tension on the cable or is it just loose, no resistance when pulling?

problem solved.

thanks alot guys!

i just did as you said, the adjustment procedure would be, mikestertwo. thanks! the thing is running again.
