what did the previous owner do to my trans?

The guy I bought my car from said his mechanic friend adjusted the trans to make it shift firmer. I want to be clear on this because he did not install a shift kit.

Now that I put a stall and shift kit in the car it is shifting really hard. Harder than it should.

What did this guy do and how can I undo it??????

Adjust the TV cable.

If the stall put in the car is less than what you took out, then it will shift harder.

Shift kit will make it shift harder. Its suppossed to.

Easy way to soften shifts is properly adjust TV cable, or increase the stall.
