$10,000 for an 1986 T-Top with 99K about 2 months ago, newly rebuilt motor. I've already put in another $3000 because it leaked EVERYWHERE and needed a tranny freshening, but ther rest of the car is in excellent shape (body/interior perfect).

I'll get a repaint in the future, but for now I will have to learn how to remove some nasty wetsading marks...

This post made me feel better about my car. I'm back to loving it again... Thanks!

I agree, its just kinda cool to have a GN thats a little rarer than the later ones...even if the power isnt all there.

My friend just bought a bone stock, mint condition 28,000 mile 86 GN w/ moonroof for $11,000!

Man.....

My 87 T cost me 6500 back in 1991. A woman had traded it in on an Acura. I drove by..looked at it...drove it...and took it home that night. Only had 24,000 miles on it...not bad for 4 years old. Now....198,000 miles and she still runs like a champ. She's ugly and needs paint and bumper fillers...but she holds her own light to light. :D

1200 bucks needed lots of body work, a rebuilt motor, and rebuilt tranny. Barely ran well enough to get it on the trailer! best of all it caught my eye way out in a tiny town on my way to purchase a '67 lemans!

$10k for mine. It had ~48k miles on it, hardtop, one owner, in very good shape and 100% stock - including the shocks, brakes, etc! I had to replace a lot of the maintenance items like brakes, shocks, belts, hoses etc as well as the spring cleaning. I also had to change out the valve springs as they were pretty tired too.

Not for sale.

not much

Hi,

I paid $750 for my '86 GN back in Aug '03. 87k miles. The dude had it sitting in his front lawn for 9 years. He said "It just stopped working one day" turned out to be a bad ECM power wire in the harness just outside the firewall. Came with (not installed): New flowmaster exhaust, IAC, Crank sensor, adj. wastegate, turbo oil feed line, heated O2 sensor, front valence scoops, the extended I/C fiberglass scoop, 4 new centercaps and a fairly decent amp and subs. Not bad. He was ready to change every part in the car and it would have never worked again!

Runs OK, needs paint, turbo, brake lines, tires, spring cleaning. Among other odds-n-ends

Seems fairly stock: has Hypertech, TPS-TEC (sold).

All (car) guys have a list of cars, #1 for me is a GTO, #2 is a GN, I guess I skipped 9 or so cars. If I had $20k to spend on a car and there was a GTO and a GN, I'd go for the GTO, unless I found a GN for cheap.

I bought my first at age 18 (87 GN) and since I was paying cash, the dealership came down a bit. It had 75k miles on it and I paid $8400....it was flawless and 100% stock. That was in 1995. I bought another one this summer on Ebay that has 150k miles, needs a few small things (new console applique, better rims, door strap escutcheons, etc.) and I paid $7000 for it. Although it could use about a $1000 worth of stuff, I still consider it an OK deal because the last owner made all the same mod's to it that I would have had to do myself. (see below) I love these cars so much that I would probably swap a kidney for one that didn't run, so perhaps my opinion isn't worth much on their value.;)

Looks like I have the board record so far.... Bought it one year ago 424.3 original miles for the low low price of $23,500 Completely factory original except battery and engine oil. Window sticker is still on the glass.

I bet this car would cost over $35,000.00 if sold today.

I paid 10,500 for an 86 GN 57k about 4 months ago. All stock when I bought it. Paints great from 5 feet, up close you can see some checking on the top surfaces. Interior is perfect. I think I paid a fair price. I've wanted a GN ever since I got smoked by one in the summer of 1990. This cars awesome!!!

$9300 for my TTA and $7500 for the Buick. Buick was definaltely worth for just the looks and awes I get w/ her!:D

$8500 not the best body interior great and a ton of mods, turbo, fmic, basically everything you would want to do to make it a 11 sec car. Just gotta get that bodywork done.

I paid $9,000 for mine in Jan.'99. had 82,000mi. on it. No rust, perfect body and the paint had some minor checking on the roof and hood, but was well cared for. Interior was mint and still is. The only goodies on it was a V2 front mount and a Scanmaster. Don't know why they put a fm on it with stock everything, but one less thing for me to buy I guess. First pass at the track on 15 psi and 235-60 BFG dr's was a 13.96. Made 3 passes that night and got it down to a 13.22 on the last pass before the rain started. Pretty good considering back then I didn't really know squat about these things.

I'm the 2nd owner of my 87 GN.
Bought in 1989, absolutely bone stock, So. Calif car, about 5K miles.

Possibly overpaid a bit ($19K or 20K, don't recall), but having spent nearly 6 months searching for the "one", 5-7% on the purchase price was not a big deal.

No regrets, whatsoever :)

I paid $3200 for my 85 GN w/100k miles on it.I bought it from my nephew so I got a good deal on it.I got a little more than that in it now.
