What do you use to dry your car?

I have been using a synthetic chamois for awhile now, and it seems to work ok, but I recently read somewhere that it's better to use a towel, either terry cloth or microfiber.

What has everyone found to work the best: leave the fewest waterspots and scratches.

I don't have show-quality paint, but I've found that that California car dryer thing works great. It's VERY soft and is basically a squeegee. You have to make sure that the car is PERFECTLY clean before you use it (you don't want to squeegee a grain of sand across your paint). I haven't noticed any scratches or anything using it. I follow-up with The Absorber. The Absorber is hands down the best drying-type thing I've ever run across.

My dad fears all that is synthetic and uses 100% cotton towels to dry his Vettes. It's a lot more time consuming and IMO the Absorber does a better job.

I second the Calif. car dryer squeegy. With that thing I only need 2 terry towels to completly dry the car, including windows.

the absorber. I wonder where you read that? The absorber works great on our car. I'd rather use that then a cow hide that will strip the wax off. However the microfiber towels work really well if it's for wiping down the car. There's different grades of microfiber, some to wipe off wax some to wipe down the car, depends on the texture.

I've used the absorber and that seems to work well. I've never tried the squeegy, although I've seen many others using with good results. Does the squeegy have a lot of drag on it? The absorber seems to have a decent about of drag to it.

Drive it dry leaves spots.

I had one of those absorbers about 10 years ago. I remember that it was hard to push across the surface..........lot's of drag. I use a similar product. The brand is WaterSprite. No drag. I've seen it at NAPA and other stores, but not often. I just bought one of those sqeeges at Walmart. I just bought the $8 one. The bigger one costs twice as much. The smaller one works great. I like it. Sqeegies all the water off likety- split. Did I really say that?

The leaf blower and follow up with a towel gets my vote. The blower gets water out from places nothing else will... Put one of those turbo 6 logos on the leaf blower and the neighbors will think it is an accessory item for your Buick instead of thinking you a little wacked.

I used compressed air on all the cracks and the Absorber to sop up the water that shoots out.

The California car dryer has amazingly little drag give the fact that it's a squeegee. A little bit of water keeps it moving. If you run it across a second time (on a dry surface) it sticks like glue. It's an interesting little device.

Make sure that the california water blade is clean between uses. It can leave a nasty scratch.I actually ran over mine accidently and it didn't break.
