I wouldn't do any dry hops, that's old school... All you're doing is wasting time, fresh rubber, and heat...
When I was running Mickey Thompson DR's, I was told by lots of the NMRA Renegade guys(It's a Mustang class that runs around 8.50's), do a decent burn out and just let off the throttle... Don't roll out of your burnout with those tires, just let off the gas, and then roll up to the line... I was cutting 1.6's on all stock suspension, and 1.50's when I did uppers and lowers... Might want to give it a shot...

Put it second
Burn out 1st til she shifts to second and a romp the gas a lil while lifting off the brake.
I usually do one dry hop and then stage.

Dont do smoky burnouts with MT DR just spin em over to clean off and stage.

Mine did that for years with a 3000 and a 3400 converter with numerous chips than when I installed a turbo tweek chip and it stopped.

I have a th400 and my trans builder and others here have said to finish your burnout in 3rd gear to limit stress.

That's correct.
