I deicided to install a shift kit on my Ttype (86) to improve my subtle shifting.

I opted for an Art Carr due to the ease of install ( yeah right).

Everything went together as the instruction prescribed.

The car shifts fine from little to 3/4 throttle. But if I nail it it over revs the shift ( flare is th eproper term?) on 1-2 ans 2-3....

WTF is the matter????

The tech guy said I need a new servo...

The thing shifted fine before..chirp 'em and evrything.

Can anyone give me some ideas here?

thank You

Double check your fluid level first. If it's fine, get a pressure gauge put on the transmission. See if your line pressure is faltering over 3/4 throttle.

If it is screwy, there could be an issue with any of the following: TV valve train, VB gaskets, pressure regulator valve train, TV boost valve among other things.

Also, did you remove all of the old filter o-rings/seals from the pump bore when replacing the filter?

I added another quart of fluid, and made the TV cable as taught as possible and things are better but not as good as I desire them to be..

It shifts firmly, but not enough to chirp the tires ( my stock gn lights them up at 1-2 shift with no tranny mods).

I only removed one O ring from that port...are there more?

thanks

I'd say a pressure test is certainly in order. And, yes, there should have been just one O-ring in the filter bore.
