What happens if using n/l converter in a lock up trans?

After the shift into OD, several seconds later it almost feels like it shifts again. Should a NL do that?

I am going to have to do some detective work. I bought a 9.5" pro torque 3200 stall. I took it to the trans shop. They were supposed to go through the tranny and install the new convertor. Now I am wondering if they pulled a switch on me and put a different LU TC in.
