Guys, can yall please inform me of what the engine code 109 is?? I have been seeingsome very fast cars with these motors, and do not have a clue to what they are What is the difference than the 231 motor, or are they the same

Like they said, 109 is the last 3 digits of the casting code of the block and is found in late '85-'87 vehicles with the 20-bolt oilpan. The on and off center is a designation for either the Stage II race blocks or the later 3800 series I and series II motors. They reffer to the rods being either offset to one side on the crank journals which alters the possitions of the bore centerlines and head placement. Between an on and off center Stage II block the rods, intakes, and headers would be different, all other parts would be interchangeable.
