Would appreciate anyone can who measure the ID of this opening at the turbo inlet advise of the diameter...the more precise the better.

Thanks, Bob

do you mean the ID of the stock turbo inlet , or of the stock up-pipe?

my 87GN's headers are off, and I could do this measurement later today, depending which you want (pls say it's the up-pipe, it's easier to measure!)

The easy one!!...looking for the ID of the up-pipe at the turbo mounting flange.

Looking for 2 or 3 decimal place accuracy if possible.

Thanks, Bob

Ok, I measured the Up-pipe's ID with a digital vernier caliper, using its "ID" (not OD) knife edges. I've never calibrated it, but I've never had reason to suspect any significant errors.

First I measured the flange ID, within 1/8" depth of its flat surface.
I measured 3 separate diameters, spaced 120º apart :

2.282"
2.288"
2.296"

The ID of the pipe is actually slightly narrower than the ID of the flange itself.

Next I inserted the calipers' knife edges deeper, to measure the pipe's ID:

2.084"
2.087"
2.116"

Hope this helps.

Thanks Tom...this is EXACTLY what I was looking for...couldn't have done it better.

Thanks again, Bob Kolhouse
