What is that clicking noise......

I think its my speedometer cable. I live in AZ and when it is hot out after about 20 minutes of driving I hear a winding/clicking noise by my dash. Whats going on??

Clicking or squeeking?When my speedo cable was making noise,it was a constant "chirp".It may be the hood stop under the hood,in the middle by the dash...Grease that and see if that helps.A click sounds like it could be a leaky header....
