I can honestly say that I own one of fastest, and one of the slowest cars ever made ( 87 GN / old VW bus). The bus feels even slower to drive when I'm used to driving the GN. The good news is, driving the bus makes the Black Brick feel faster. My problem is that every time I pull up next to a Viper I'm in the Bavarian death wagon  .

81 Citation, V-6, four speed, 4 door, white with red interior. Believe it or not it was pretty quick.

Not only did I owne a 87 Chevy Sprint, I owned 2! 3 cyliner, 50hp.

Wierdest was a 80 something Opel Corsa right hand drive. Tranny made a terrible growl and was full of rust!

I had a 81 Chevy Citation, 76 Dodge Aspen, and 78 AMC Concorde. That was back in my teens. I would love to know when those cars hit the junkyard and where they went after i owned them. I sure have some good memories of those cars.

I've always wondwered same thing Dan. I mean these cars were a part of us growing up and meant a lot to us for different reasons and we hate to think they did not go on forever.. :)

1990 geo metro wagon.
3 banger with 12 inch wheels
45+ miles to the gallon , i had the windows tinted limo, some people that knew me couldnt see me driving it. ;)

I don't know if it really qualifies as a "car". But about a year ago my buddies and I bought a 91 ford escort and turned it into a rally car/mud bogger. It could make it through any mud pit relatively easy. Only had to break out the Kubota a couple of times.

here's a bunch of pics of it after it got all dolled up for the home coming parade: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/440731/2

and for the record I eventually painted it black

78 Mercury Monarch.

Car was rusty, 4 doors,302 ci. , silver exterior, with a red Pleather interior. This car was bought for me by my Mother  , to replace my 78 Z28 that my sister spun out and totalled into a light pole. Gotta love the thought behind the car but man that was horrible, tryin to pick up my then girlfriend (but now wife) for a Friday night date in the old Monarch  . The car did do some real mean lawnjobs on the Northwest side of Chicago. The Sod companies had a suuden increase in sales for a few weeks.

What is the most goofy car you owned? How did it look & run?

Mine was a 1973 V-8 Vega wagon that I owned back in 1980.

Someone installed a 4bbl 350 sbc, th350, TA Shaker scoop, Thrush side pipes. This car looked like a crayola cryon box. It was fun for stop light action. The best was beating up on the 77 to 80 TA's.

This car was a 14.5 runner for having no performace parts.

wow dude i used to own the crappy 4cyl one i used to love the way it looked
sporty red 2 door hatch-back, THE CAR SUCKED! if i had a friend in the car we would have to get a running start at the bridge just to make it over the dam thing

I started off with an '80 Toyota LB P/U. It was a shop truck for the A/C co. my dad worked for. The owner asked my dad if he wanted it to give it to me for my 16th b-day. It was 3 colors (depending on which layer was peeling off) white, dk blue, & lt blue. Had what looked like wet sand for gear oil in the trans, a glass pack muffler (with optional holes), a hole in the hood for the chain & lock, a sheetmetal quarter window, and no working A/C. It looked like a total POS, ran almost as bad, but just wouldn't die no matter what I did to it. Damn I wish I had it now.

After reading through this list i may have the weirdest one yet lol...I had a 1975 bright yellow Ford Maverick that was a straight 6 with a 3 speed clutch ON THE COLUMN. Very strange rowing through the gears on the column lol...I was broke in high school and the starter went bad. i drove that car for 6 months with no starter because I could pop the clutch and start it so easily, though i always had to park strategically. I could pop start that thing by myself in a dead flat parking lot. I could get it rolling fast enough and jump in and pop start it before it stopped rolling. Why do I miss those days? lol

I never owned a car i didn't like, But My buddy at the time had a 1971 Lemans Pontiac 4 door painted dark navy blue with duals and keystone classics. It only had a 350 poncho with a 2 barrel carb. It would out run 86-89 GTs Mustangs and 350 vettes and 400cid 73-79 TAs . It put the smack down on alot of victums.. Surprizingly enough we always had beer drinking double dates in that car. Drunk girls never seemed to mind the fast party Lemans. :D
