What is this "Ptsnoop" program that keeps running?

I keep finding this program running in my active Tasks called 'Ptsnoop'. I delete it and it comes back after a while. Anyone know what this is and how to permantly delete it if its one of those snooping programs so that internet advertisers can bombard you with email crap?

Download and run the following:

Ad-aware
Spybot

They're both free.

If it's something bad, those two will get rid of it (along with a chitload of other stuff you don't need).

Actually, neither will work. Apparently, in most cases, Ptsnoop is a program installed into your computer by the modem manufacturer, it's a program made by Pctel that basically does something with the modem, I don't think it does much of anything in terms of bad or good for you per se, but if you really want to delete it, no spyware program will find it. Thanks for that link Axle, I will check it out when I get home to see if it is in fact a PCtel pgm or a virus.
