I read a lot of 0-60 mph stats on various “performance cars” and they seem to be in the 4.5-6 second range. I realize there are factors such as "hook-up", etc but what does it really mean in a "real world comparison"?

2006 Model 0-60 MPH (sec) / ¼ mile time (sec)
Mustang GT __________5.1 / 13.5
Dodgge Magnum R/T___5.9 / 14.1
Ferrari Super America__4.2 / ?
Porshe Cayman_______5.1 / ?

What do you think a lightly modified Hot Air TR do?
Lightly Modified definition – TA33, Alky, electric fan, 87 ECM, larger down pipe ........

What about a IC'd TR?
TA49, Alky, stock IC, DP, ........

Someone has an excel spreadsheet that will interpolate 0-60 from a 1/8 mile time slip.

A good running stock turbo TR with traction and boost will run 7.7's @ 88 in the 1/8th which is a high 3 second 0-60.

But his is a hot air GN. I'd think something in the 5's would be realistic.

BTW, I'd like to take a ride in and a look at this "stock" TR that can run 7.7's in the 1/8th. Unless you're talking slicks, very high boost, race gas, etc. etc.

I was extatic when my slightly modded 86 ran 8.0's at 86 this spring. But that was with 93 octane, 20# boost, real street tires hooking to 1.8's.

He asked about an intercooled TR further down.

My Car ran 7.7's on stock injectors, Stock intercooler, Stock turbo with a Thrasher 100 chip, 20 psi boost and drag radials and of course, some race gas.

My only real "bolt on" was a THDP with a dump. I don't remember it being all that hard, either.

Here is the 0-60 program that I ran for my car based on a timeslip.

TA49, Bluetops, Big neck intercooler, 275/60 drag radials, THDP, Thrasher 108, stock long block.

That would explain the difference I guess. I was only running 93 octane, street tires, and non race chip settings (because of gas).

not a hot air but
stock turbo and dutt neck i/c ,130k stock motor , 93 and alky (bigger injectors though)
radials (MT streets)
0-60mph 3.29sec
heres the slip

1.609 4.798 7.559 88.67 9.968 12.03 108.82

with DS you can reveiw a pass and see what the 0-60 or any other speed for that matter and if braking is your thing it will track that too

0-10 .23
0-20 .60
0-30 1.07
0-40 1.70
0-50 2.41
0-60 3.29
0-70 4.61
0-80 6.04
0-90 7.63
0-100 9.83

granted this is on a prepped surface , most published times are on factory issue tires on less than perfect road surface , but some are tested at a strip type test area

same car with a TA49 0-60 2.91 (1.57 60')
