well, I was walking up to class one day and in the parking lot I saw this T. it was a beater for sure, the doors were half rusted out the maroon paint faded badly, but I just fell in love with the looks of that car. I need to dig up one, just havn't gotten there yet, I'll probably wait till I'm out of college first, but let me tell you I will end up with one. ;) The T's have a hint of wickedness of them, but it's subtle instead of being gaudy and flashy like so many "performance" cars are, which is something I can't stand. Why I think that ricers should be shot on sight (I define a ricer as one of these losers that thinks an air cleaner, tail pipe and assloads of tickers make something go fast, regardless of make or origin) Some have already said that it's one of the last true muscle cars, I want to say that it's the muscle car of my generation. The 60s and 70s had their cars, the 80s is the Grand National/T-type without a doubt. Afterall, when considering it what the hell else is there, the 305 camaro?

I was a freshman in college about 6 years ago (whew, I am getting old) and an older friend of mine was a senior.

He had a GN -- a car I never heard about until then. He told me it was super fast. I loved how it was all black and was an automatic but still so fun to drive. He took me for a ride in it and I remember being thrown against the seat as he accelerated. He told me it didn't take curves that well, it just went straight. :D I told myself I had to get one someday and I did. Dream come true. My favorite car ever.

I am glad I have it when I am still young and can enjoy it. I don't want to be that old fart driving around with the car he wished he had when he was young.

I have loved cars since I could remeber riding around in one, but it only took one person to make me want a turbo Regal. That was Bob Slusser (BobbyBuick).

I was at a Friday night cruise-in when I was just 12 years old. This is when I met an old high school friend of my dad's (Bob). At the time he was running mid 13's with next to nothing done to the GN. I thought "13's with a stock 3.8 v6 block is INSANE."

It was that night that I made up my mind that I would own a GN by the time I turned 18. I came across my car when I was 15 and it was about the only turbo car in my price range ($4,000), so I bought it. I guess the rest is history.:)

I was into Monte Carlo SS's (hence the screen name) and a customer of mine (auto parts store) came in one day and said "You ever ridden in one of these?" "Uh, no." "Let's go!" That was my first 11 second ride...and certainly not my last. Bought a T a year later.

My first car was an 86 Regal Limited with a NA 3.8. Slow as snails but a nice ride for high school and college. My brother was into 5.0 Mustangs and his car could easily outrun mine, but I always told him I'd get a GN one day an it would be a different story. One day I was riding with him and his car was known as one of the fastest in town. Then alongside pulls an 86 GN while we were going about 30mph down a 4 lane street. The race was on and my brother got the jump. Then a whoosh sound and the GN passed him by. I was hooked.

About 5yrs ago, I was in Az. and one of my dad's "old" buddies had like 4 or 5 cars there and told me I could drive them all but one. The first was a 48 buick conv.(mint) with a 400 pontiac motor.
The second was a 34 dodge (mint) with a 455 buick motor. He also had some others. Then my dad says to me Wanna ride in the fastest one? I said sure. When we walked up to it, it had 4 wide tires on it and the grey paint was pretty faded. I asked what it was and his buddy said a buick. 4 of us got into the car and when he started it I kinda laughed to myself. My dad heard me and said "just wait". We pulled out onto like a 35mph street and it definately didn't sound at all fast. Then "uncle bob" started slowing the car down, looking in the rearview the whole time. I sat there and thought now what, try and peel out with all 4 of us in the car? He completely stopped the car and just held the brake. His right foot then started slowly pushing the pedal and "my god". I heard this jet engine whistling noise and he let go of the brake. The feeling of my back being pushed soo hard into the seat was all it took for me. What a rush!! I went back the next year and bought the car. I told my neighbor (who races a camaro) about it and he just kinda grinned before I went to pick it up. His was dynoed at 471 hp and I take him by about 6-7 car lengths at the 1/4.:D

When I was 5 or 6 years old ('82 or '83) my dad brought home a brand new Monte Carlo and I thought it was awesome......my favorite show back then was Knight Rider. Is it at all strange that I ended up falling in love with GNs years later?

The first time I saw one I knew I had to get one but couldn't understand why they were so expensive.....the first time I rode in one I didn't think they were expensive enough. I bought my first when I was 18 and owned Main St. I loved it when middle aged guys would get out of their Corvettes to ask me, 'How'd a kid like you get one of those?' and then they'd decline my offer to run 'em.
