My cars suck

Its becoming more and more obvious that my car will never be fixed. I'm sure the motor will need to come out (again), therefor putting me on the proverbial trailer for another season. I'm starting to lose faith in my builder, and theres no one close enough to take it to. Hell, even he's 3 hours away. At this point, my options are limited. I want to sell it, my heart just won't let me. I've put so much money in this car, like over $35,000, and it always breaks. Its cursed. Its just making me sick. I listen to these "experts", who I pay to do work on my car that I can't, and they fu(k it up more than I could on my own. Is it just me or does everyone just SUCK at their job anymore? Regardless, I have to have it fixed before I can sell it, so I'm screwed either way. There goes another summer with no racing. Fu(k, by the time its fixed I'll be too old to care. I'm so mad I could just choke someone to death. Too bad I missed the excellent bar fight my buddies got in when I wasn't there, would have felt good to lay some moron out.

Anyway, what should I do? My car is my only vice, I don't drink, smoke, do drugs, or anything. Its what keeps me sane at times. I wanna go out right now and just put my fist through the damn thing.

I don't drink, smoke, do drugs, or anything. [/B][/QUOTE] Sam maybe you should start,,
Sorry to hear your having trouble with that beast....I have been away for a month with moving and all,so please link me to your post with the problems,,,
oh my email is screwed up now,so please dont email me ..

Again SORRY to hear that.:( :(

Probably would be wise to take time away from it. You know you won't sell it with $35K in it so don't frustrate yourself unnecessarily. I'd let it lay until next weekend, then start disassembling the front cover and look for the restriction. You'll probably find the culprit under there.

I Agree!!! take sometime away from it. I have done that many of times when things wouldn't go right.

Sh!t, if I stay away from it long enough to forget about it, I'll probably come to my senses and sell all of it! I get bitchier every day its broke, and its hard to forget about.

Man, its like being addicted to crack. It ruins your life, but you gotta have it. Maybe I should start a gearheads anonymous support group. 12 steps. But I'd start at 12, then go for 11's, then 10's, thats what got me in this mess.

It has taken me two years away from mine before I even decided to keep the damn thing , and just this week I am having my motor done.

Good Luck Sam. You've inspired me to stick with the low 12 step, high 11 step, mostly stock plan ;) Tim

Sam - don't sell it. You've spent to much time and effort creating your car (very nice!).
Screw the money, what's spent is gone. You obviously love the car or you wouldn't have put the effort in it to start with.
SO-
Take a BREAK...buy a short block from one of the overall well known short block people on the board. Put yours on a stand and come back to it later. It obviously has a problem, no doubt about it...figure it out later. Right now, you've GOT to get that car rolling or you're going to keep hating it.

Theres just no pride in a job done well anymore. IN any field. It seems too many are just in it for the check. I think I'm the last local who does the job to be good at it. At my job, I'm the 1st one in, and the last to leave. Went in on the 4th in the AM to try to get a customers car done cuz he needed it Monday AM. Boss said he never had anyone who would do this.

Heh, October will be 2 years since I've driven my car. It has a simple leaking head gasket. Every time I think I'll go down in the garage to fix it, my motor guy says "I'll have your motor done by weeks end". Almost 2 years of this. Its my own damn fault, I know, but I feel your pain.

But I dont want to sell it. Like you said, its my vice, and when I drive it, I love it. (We'll see now. I hope I havent modded it past the point of reliability....) I think I'd only sell it if I really needed the money. Otherwise, it'll sit in my garage, running or not.
