I am facing a monetary situation and may be forced to sell my 1987 stage II street car.

4 years ago it was restored with at least the following:

PPG triple black paint and clear coat
windshield
passenger door glass
drivers door glass
fiber glass hood
fiber glass trunk
fiber glass front bumper
passenger door skin
drivers door skin
factory qtr panel driver
factory fender passenger
factory fender driver
sheet metal work to floor panels
new carpet
new fuel tank

2 years ago the following performance upgrades were completed:

Stage II short block
Champion heads ported by PT&E
sheet metal intake
4" chrome inlet pipe
83#/hr injectors
ATR headers
3" THDP modified for ATR gate
full roller billet 200 4R w brake
PT&E GTQ 74 turbo
PT&E front mount
FAST fuel management
wide band O2
Upgraded the GNX style dash with: silver phantom Autometer fuel level, H2O temp, oil psi, tach, 30-0-30 boost
under radio dual pod w fuel pressure and voltage
6 point role cage
notched frame
Mohser 33 spline axels
spool
weld 15X10 rears w Hoosier street slicks
weld 15X 7.5 fronts
remote oil cooler w fan
remote trans cooler w fan
4 core radiator
electric water pump
ratchet shifter
2005 Impala alternator
brake pads, rotors, calipers, and powermaster
power 6 valve covers

Basically the car is brand new. I never intended on selling it, so there is not much detail in receipts.

Title is clean and clear

Car has AWESOME street manors and is a complete monster when needed.

Short block is good to 1400 HP. Turbo is done at 1000 HP.

This car is NOT cobbled together. Rather it is one of the most impressive GN's out there. All credit to Pat Hall. He is the man.

I am sure I left out several important and expensive items.

Probably use eBay to reach the most people.

My ? is what can I expect to have in return for my broken heart?

I mean the fact of not having to wait for a stage II project to be complete has to be worth a lot on its own.

I have no dilusion of getting my cash back out of it.

Is it worth $30K? $35K? What can I get?

Should I part it out? Engine and trans are worth $20 alone?

Any advise is welcomed.

Or if you know of anyone seriously concidering a project of this size that is wanting to forgo the wait, let me know.

I would do a search on other stage cars and see what they were priced at. Maybe not what you would want out of it, but would give you a rough idea.
:)

I m sure i wont get near what I want for it. but thanks. I have done some research and still it's hard to gauge the value.

Part the car if you want to get any kind of $$$ back, look above and I did a quick break down prices for items....

Thanks Broke1. Kind of what I was thinking. Do you feel there is anay additional value for the "non-waiting" factor?

Also I will be including my car hauler with it. twin axel full diamond plate, new ramps, new tires, inertia brakes, no issues.

I really want $28K for both.

And as far as pictures go... its in heated storage now and will need a wash and buff first.

Also I got a lot of emails asking about why the car has not recorded a lower ET.

Quite simply because it has never seen more than 16# of boost. Honest. I had a lot of tranny issues that took a while for Lonnie and I to work out, and lower boost was the safe route.

This car will run 9's! As-is.

As far as how low 9's... ??? Don't really know as this is a pretty light car but it only has a 74 turbo.

Dennis from PRO TRAC RACING went as quick as 9.10 and mph'd 153 with a PTE-74 in a 3250# car.

Was my goal too, but didn't want to sound unreasonable. The car is stupid fast @ low boost, can only imagine at max!!

stage 2

thanks for the photos the car looks nice and stealthy you should have no problem getting over $ 30K when you part the car but continue to advertise the car as a running specimen because there's not that much stage 2 out there for sale (I don't know of any stage 2 for sale right now). Go to all the Buick site you might get an offer for a trade for a stock GN plus cash or something else in that way you still have a toy to play unless you have something in mind. Good luck.

Thank you. But I will try to sell it as a whole and include the trailer at first. If I can't get near my $$ wants I will separate it all.

That car with and enclosed trailer should fetch $30k-$35k. I would pay that for a nice stage 2 monster with a trailer. Don't give it away either. All these f**kers that say mid-20's are idiots........ I want to see someone build one for that kind of money. :) Good luck and sorry to see you get rid of it.

Thanks for the imput, I agree. It would cost bank to build this beast again! Not to mention the time and waiting involved.

The trailer is not enclosed, rather it is just a full diamaond plate with removable fenders.

Also if I missed anybody that wanted pics, shoot me another email.

 If I wasn't moving in the next 2-4 months I would very interested in just the car, already have the trailer  Unfortunetly I need the money from my TTA sale for the house. :frown:
You can send me pics if you want, so I can dream for now

doesn't really matter what its worth ... I mean its worth what someone will pay in $$$ and that you will take . I bought my TTA stage 2 car like that . good luck

Your Car

Seems like you are in a pickle. I would advise you to sell as a whole car rather than trashing what sounds like fantastic car. If you are strapped for cash parting it out means dealing with a lot of morons who want pics, then shipping costs then they drop out of sight.

Selling it whole means only dealing with one person and that's it. I wish I had the room and my wife didn't count my cars I would be on it like a hobo on a ham sandwich.

To maximize your dollars find a good place to advertise it price it at 35k and let it go You can negotiate a little but don't give it away.

Just my .02 centavos worth

Roger

The car will be for sale bt February 6th. Thanks for all the advice both posted here and emailed to me.

I will try selling it with trailer on all the buick boards first then its off to ebay.
